A few quick checks before you submit can make a big difference in the finished transfer.
What file type should I upload?
PNG is strongly recommended, especially when your artwork needs a transparent background. The builder also accepts JPG/JPEG files, but JPG does not support transparency.
Does my PNG need a transparent background?
If you do not want a background printed around your design, yes. Transparent areas in a properly prepared PNG stay transparent on the gang sheet and will not become a printed box.
Can I upload a JPG or JPEG?
Yes, but remember that JPG/JPEG files cannot contain transparency. White or other background areas in the file are part of the image and may print with the design.
Why does my artwork have a white box around it?
The file most likely contains a white background instead of transparency. Simply changing a filename from JPG to PNG, or saving a JPG as a PNG, does not automatically remove the background.
What resolution should my artwork be?
For best results, use artwork that is approximately 300 DPI at the size you intend to print it. The builder shows the effective image quality as you resize artwork. Enlarging a small image too much can make the final transfer blurry or pixelated.
What does the checkerboard background mean?
The checkerboard represents transparent space on the gang sheet. It is only a visual guide in the builder and does not print in the production PNG.
Can I just remove the background after uploading?
The builder is designed for sizing and arranging production-ready artwork; it is not a background-removal editor. Prepare the artwork with the background removed before uploading it.
